Front Row Seat
I will bless the Lord at all times: His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together.
We are in the midst of a Faith Promise Giving emphasis month at Mbira Baptist Church. We will be having a missionary visit Sunday, July 22, with the hopes of taking him on as our first missionary to support. Please pray that God will stir hearts towards giving and going, and that the church will grow in many ways as a result.
We do have two young men, George William and Moses, that God has led to start preaching points with the hopes of eventually starting churches there. Both men continue to see growth in these places. George William has been going on Saturdays to preach, and has recently begun going on Sundays before our service here so he can disciple those that have gotten saved. Many of them came recently for a joint baptism with Mbira Baptist Church. Moses was excited when he went last week. He said Satan kept trying to discourage him from going on his journey there, but his perseverance was rewarded when eight people got saved. That was more than he’s had get saved at one time on his other visits. Please pray for George William and Moses as they move forward in these areas.
Bible College and Leadership Bible College are both moving along well. We began a new term for the Leadership Bible College class recently and have been excited to see more students join the class. God is definitely working in hearts of students here, and we’re thankful He has allowed us a “front row seat” to watch what He is doing.
Our school has also added more dayschoolers this term. This provides even more opportunities to share the Gospel with students and families who have never heard the truth before.
Our P7 and S4 classes will be having practice exams soon. Please continue to pray for them as they prepare for their exams.
When we sent out our last newsletter, we mentioned a piece of garden land that we were praying for God to provide. God used several individuals to provide exactly what was needed to purchase the land. We have begun the process of clearing the land and will be ready to plant in September when the next rainy season begins. This piece will about double our yields!
One of our female street kids was killed a couple weeks ago. She was the third death in the last year among our kids. We hope she had made a decision for Christ at some point in the years she was with us, but it can be difficult to know for sure. Please continue to pray fervently for the salvation and protection of our kids that live on the streets.
The government has recently forbid us from feeding the street kids as we were doing before. While this was difficult news for us to hear, God has opened another door that we had been praying about. We have rented a place in town where we will be able to house a few of the boys to get them off the street. One of the young men that works with them, Frank, will be living with them and overseeing them. He is in the process now of getting it ready for them to move in. We plan to put the boys in a vocational school, to train them in life skills, and most importantly give them more regular teaching from God’s Word. We’re excited to see how God will use them in the future as a result. Please pray for Frank as he continues to work with and minister to all the street kids, and for those boys that will be living with him.
