Hurricane Irma Refugees
Hi Dear Friends,
THANK YOU so much for your numerous texts and phone calls of concern as Hurricane Irma approaches. We are simply humbled by those of you across the country who have offered to open your home to us. What a blessing to be so loved and supported!
Please know that we are safe. Jeff and I (and our little dog) have evacuated our home in Cutler Bay (a mandatory evacuation zone) and we are in Griffin, GA staying with one of our supporters. The picture above was taken upon our arrival! We know that the storm is likely to head this way next but we are told it won't be a severe storm when it reaches this area. Jeff says he'll keep his eye on things and move us north if necessary.
Please continue to pray for us though. At this point, we have no idea when we'll be able to return to our area or what condition our home will be in when Irma passes. We are certain, however, that God is greater than any disaster and will work everything out for our good.
As you know, we just got back from the Navajo Indian Reservation on Saturday night. I'm super excited to let you know that 22 people prayed with me for salvation! No storm can stop the work of God is doing in peoples lives. Lord willing, we will head to Porto Alegre, Brazil on October 5th!
In closing, please pray for our friends and church family who are stuck in traffic right now (sleeping at rest stops) trying to cavate the Miami area and especially for those who are not able to leave.
"But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you." -Psalm 5:11
